About me
Dr. Beth Shalom Hessel is Executive Director of The Athenaeum of Philadelphia, where mission-focused strategies have doubled membership and significantly increased engagement. Previously, she led the Presbyterian Historical Society, expanding individual and grant funding for community-driven initiatives. She holds a PhD from Texas Christian University, master’s degrees from Binghamton University and San Francisco Theological Seminary, and a bachelor’s from the University of California, Davis.
