About me
Sarah Mezzino is the Curator of Decorative Arts & Design for The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Holding BAs in Anthropology, Art History, and Fine Art from The George Washington University and an MA in the History of Decorative Arts from the Smithsonian Associates/Corcoran College of Art + Design, Sarah has worked with historic collections and buildings in the Mid-Atlantic region since 2003. Sarah currently oversees the decorative arts collection at The Lawrenceville School and has been on several award-winning building committees for the renovation and restoration of the School's National Landmark structures. Her last building project – Abbott Dining Hall – received ICAA’s Stanford White Award (2020) and the General Building Contractors Association’s Excellence in Craftsmanship Award (2018) and Best Educational Institution Project Award (2018). Sarah also pens articles for the School’s internationally known prize-winning magazine, The Lawrentian, and provides lectures, exhibits, tours, and educational opportunities for students, alumni, and the surrounding community. In 2018, Sarah was asked to join The Hopewell Museum’s Board of Trustees to advise, assess, inventory, and re-house the museum’s decorative arts collection as well as to aid in the design/renovation of the museum’s 1877 Second Empire structure. Sarah is also the New Jersey State Representative for the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries, a graduate of the Attingham Trust’s Summer School, Victorian Society in America’s Newport and London Schools, and Historic New England’s PINES program.
